Cotton prices were almost flat across markets with some reporting drop and some showing upward bias. The October Futures closed the week at US cents 80.32 per pound while the Cotlook
Viscose staple fibre prices plunged further in China this week discouraging producers to sell at lower prices or on monthly settlement basis. Markets had mostly lost confidence on future trends and anticipated prices to slide further. Demand too stayed low and inventories piled up. Moreover, values of feedstock remained firm, which further aggravated margins. Given the market fundamentals, prices are likely to shed further.
